2008-2009 Local USA Hockey
Officiating Seminars

The dates and times for this year's Capital District USA Hockey Officiating Seminars have been finalized and are available on the New York District Officiating website at the following link:

NY District Officiating Seminars

Selecting 'Capital District' from the left-side drop-down list will highlight the seminars that are available in the Capital District.

Please note!

All new officials who are 17 years old or younger MUST be accompanied by a parent or guardian for the first hour of the seminar.

Bring with you:

  • $15.00 CDIHOA registration fee ($5.00 for new officials)
  • $10.00 New York State evaluation fee
  • officiating gear, including helmet, whistle, skates, and [for returning officials] referee sweater and pants
  • pen or pencil
  • rulebook (for returning officials)

Do not forget your helmet! No one without a helmet will be allowed on the ice, thereby forfeiting your seminar attendance.

Be sure to sign in on the USA Hockey attendance form. Failure to do so will result in an incomplete registration with USA Hockey.

Be sure to fill out the CDIHOA registration form and pay the registration fees. Otherwise, you will not be registered with CDIHOA and therefore will not receive games through the association.

When registering, you will need to know your social security number, as well as other personal info such as your address, date of birth, e-mail address, home/work phone numbers, and the level at which you will be registering this year. In addition, if you are a returning official, you must have your USA Hockey referee registration number (printed on your registration card) from last season. Write this information down before arriving if you do not have it memorized.

A number of CDIHOA publications will be made available to you at the seminar, including the CDIHOA Policies document, and the CDIHOA Officiating Fees document. It is your responsibility to pick up these documents -- or access them on the Web -- and become familiar with their contents.

Please spread the word about the clinics to those people who are interested in becoming officials, or to those returning officials who do not have access to e-mail. An ad will be published in the Times Union displaying the seminar schedule as well.

To locate level 4 seminars, or for other seminars outside of the Capital District, please visit the New York Hockey Officials website.
